Birthday week…

This past week has been extremely long and I’m beginning to just accept the fact that when in New York no matter how uneventful your week appears, it’s still extremely jam packed. As the weeks go by the days here are feeling less and less like holidays and more and more like home… which makes the thought of only having 4 weeks left here so bittersweet.

On Saturday the 8th I had class to make up for the 4th of July, and I decided to spend the rest of my day out in Greenwich village afterwards. There was a “block party” going on on one of the side streets so I walked down and was able to find a bunch of cute little stores, and even got to see a jazz band playing that had attracted a dancing couple. Then I got completely turned around in the area I was in so I spent about an hour just “roaming the streets” of greenwich until I found myself back at Joe’s Pizza and had a slice. At this time Katie had finished her classes that day and I grabbed the subway back to res.

Sunday the 9th was the first time I finally made myself go out and GROCERY SHOP! Go me…  and then I spent the rest of the day doing some meal prep for the rest of the week. We also went to the drama bookshop that day, which is this amazinggggggggg store filled with basically any play you could ever want.

Tuesday the water in our building was unexpectedly turned off and it was a fun day in the apartment with no water for over 7 hrs… things got a little scary.

Wednesday and Thursday of this week were basically a blur of me trying to not spend so much money so I stayed in most of the time, went out and about on walks and such- but mostly stayed in and worked on memorizing my scene for class.

Thursday I got my isa order that came in and all was well in the world again…

Friday after class Katie and I impulsively went and saw the despicable me 3 movie in theatres and then we went shopping… I found the WEIRDEST store I could find and then I spent over 40 minutes in said store trying to find the most useless thing… then I bought it for Amir’s New York package.

Saturday was my birthday! The lovely 19 which would usually be an exciting night spent in Canada out with my friends at a bar or something but NOPE. AMERICA. But a birthday in New York nevertheless is nothing to complain about. I had 2 classes that day again to make up for the 4th of July and then Katie and I went out to Juniors for dinner. Then we saw CATS the musical. Afterwards we got dessert and walked home… all in all it was a fun day. And to end the week, Sunday again was spent grocery shopping and meal prepping for this upcoming week, as well as doing laundry and finishing up my homework. I bought a few more plays this week too.

We are down to the final 2 weeks of my 5 week program so we are seriously beginning to get in the grind, and then the last 2 weeks will be a audition technique intensive.

 

Day 11…. almost halfway???

Happy thursday!!!

Only if you know me thursdays arent happy because they almost always mean the start to my lovely “work weekend” at the j-o-b. Ick😒 

Working in restaurants definitely have their perks but working all weekend EVERY weekend is not one of them🤷🏼‍♀️ 

I’m currently sitting in my car outside of my work before my shift wasting time and snacking on…. SUNFLOWER SEEDS‼️‼️ honestly i think im starting to get the hang of this stuff? 

Vegan is freakin hard when all you do is go out for dinner all the damn time because basically no restaurants have vegan options- which is ridiculous considering how many vegans there are now adays??? Like please get with the program!!! 

Besides a few slip ups (obvi this week hasn’t been perfect…. cheese is almost impossible to avoid🤷🏼‍♀️🙈) i’ve been doing ok with this whole “vegan” thing… and im thinking of keeping it going. There are a few things i’ve noticed this week about it that i really enjoy! 

1. Less bloating!

2. More energy! (Believe it or not i’ve had a ton of energy and i think its probably because im not having all that bread…)

3. Also, not having a constant stomache ache is pretty nice🙌🏻 

Besides that, i’m also learning to find different snacks! I’ve had a ton of nuts, beans, coconut and even seaweed????( not my favourite but i’ll work my way to it😉) 

So i mean all in all this experiment really hasn’t been bad at all!!! 

Here’s hoping i can make it through this weekend at work- since theres not a single thing vegan at work, i will be forced to pack food and will likely be living off of my superfood nutrition system these next few days- but hey, at least i’ll still be getting everything i need to function🤷🏼‍♀️😌😍 

Day 9…Vegan icecream

I’ve been starring at a container of vegan icecream contemplatingly for the past 10 minutes. I’m not sure whether i just discovered some really amazing icecream alternative, or if everything it advertises is a big lie….

Not sure if i like it but deffinitely not going to stop eating it is how i feel about vegan icecream…

Today has been quite the day… and i know this post is late but hey!!!! Better late than never am i right!!! 

Today went bad. And by bad i mean it started vegan and ended with me eating cheese bread and wings… what can i say toronto triggers the eater in me🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ 

Tomorrow WILL be better👍🏻

The rest of the day however was very good😌😌 i’ve been taking an acting class in toronto every tuesday night, and although im not fond of the city i am IN LOVE with the class. I only have one week left and then i leave for new york not long after but i am so excited to expand my work and training into the GTA and a bigger area next year and see what i can do!! 

Absolutely love this life 😌

Day 7… one week down

Hi everyone! 

I know it’s late but i’ve been consumed by monologue work and actual work all day! 

Yesterday and today were my days off from the gym and it has felt so strange not being there. 5/7 days is deff enough though and those forced rest days are greatly needed. Back at the grind tomorrow🙌🏻

also, in the spirit of my 30 day clean plan, tomorrow i start something a lil fun! I’m going to be trying ONE WEEK of a vegan diet! I figure if i’m doing this clean month, i may as well try some fun stuff! 

So tomorrow that starts and i’ll vlog the entire week! 

Day 6💪🏻

Today is my rest day, and a day that i’m focusing soley on diet🙌🏻 to be completely honestly worry about what to eat all the time is ridiculously TIRING, and i dont know about you guys- but i am not one of those people who are going to think about everything they put in their mouth. Like if i want a donut im gonna eat that donut… and maybe 10 minutes later realize that oops… maybe that donut wasn’t the healthiest. Im not one to deprive myself of what I want, cause thats just no way to live😒 But trying to eat clean is hard!!!! 

This week so far i’ve done well by cutting out fast food, excess snackage, and sugary drinks. And that so far has been super easy to do🙌🏻 thank god for nutritional cleansing and nutrient dense superfood shakes (as well as all my amazing workout assistant products) that keep my body functioning during the sugar withdrawal😍  i’ve had ZERO cravings for anything, and im even starting to actually WANT healthy food…? Weird😱

Nonetheless everyday is a new day and today im feeling…. bloated, unmotivated, and unpleased with my self image… it’s just one of those days you know? I know we all have them, and they’re ok! So because of that, todays all about self care and self love😌😌 

I’m taking saturday/sunday off from the gym so my body and muscles have time to relax and rebuild. I’m seriously considering getting in some cardio after work just because i love the endorphins so much🙃 

also while we’re here!!!! Booty update!🍑🍑

I’ve been using Tammy Hembrows gym booty workout program, which is a 8 week program with a series of glute and leg exercises using heavy weights to help grow that peach🍑! I’m currently on week 5 and im SEEING RESULTS PEOPLE!!!! For someone whose always HAD a booty, but always wanted a toned ass, it’s incredible to see the peach firm up💪🏻 

I know that may be too much info, but a lot of you guys wanted to know what i think about it, and i LOVE IT🙌🏻 

Alright… now this is basically just my way of procrastinating from cleaning my room, rehearsing my music and working on my monologues before i head off to the j-o-b for the night, so i’ll cut it there! 

To day 6, almost one week in! Also, something funs coming at you all (and me) for week 2… so keep reading! 

day 3… Cleanse day!

Yesterday was a rough day….

and by rough I mean I think I ate my body weight in bacon…. oops? Honestly Im not even sorry about it because breakfast food after a 4 hour acting class is basically the closest thing you’ll get to utter bliss.

Day 2 wasn’t so great but I’m just getting into the groove of things… so instead of putting myself down for the a) chocolate I ate and b) the greasy foods I consumed… I’m going to highlight everything I HAVE done right these past 2 days!

  1. Gotten rid of the scale, out of sight, out of mind right?
  2. Gone to the gym and pushed myself 3 days in a row!
  3. increased my weight on all my leg and arm workouts (win!)
  4. Avoided fast food restaurants!
  5. Spent lots of time in coffee shops only consuming tea and water instead of cake…
  6. Slept more!

Beginning to cut out the junk is hard, but even taking the majority of it out of my diet I can already feel a change and it’s only day three! Less bloating, more energy, and motivation!

As these next few weeks go on I’ll be focusing on my health yes, but Im looking to create habits that will stick that I can bring with me to New York for the summer (and to help me keep my shit together while I’m in school.)

I have so much going on right now with getting ready for New York, preparing all my pieces for classes and focusing on still losing weight. I have probably a thousand items still to buy, and I can’t get everything ready fast enough. Learning how to juggle your own business, upcoming school, weekly classes, info sessions, and meetings is HARD. But man do I love it. Being away for 2 months is going to be such a change…

Today Is cleanse day, so goodbye toxins! However, I’m keeping it fairly low key. A day of memorizing monologues, info session, and just relaxing.
